I bet you thought I’d wind up in pose
both compromising and ridiculous:
perhaps the props-girl, young Maria-Rose,
or in a threesome with a kinky twist!
My past is badly littered with such acts
that as you know have nearly ruined love
but as I’m dedicated to the facts
I can’t but learn the lessons from above:
that following my every errant impulse
is not the path of happiness or good,
but leads to love’s dismay and hard repulse
as on reflection, really, well it should!
