Subject: Christmastide
Our dear director is a bit intense
and wants the cast to spend the Christmas break
sequestered in theatrical demesne
and learn our characters beyond mistake.
I’ve told him this is an idiotic plan
as some of us have lives, and families too,
and he’s at agreed to limit down the span
although he’d rather see us through-and-through.
If you think it’s possible to join
before you fly off south to hearth and home
your company to me would be a coin
of purest gold, amidst the wrack and foam.
Although I love the stage in all it’s glory
This production’s making me quite sorry.
