Subject: Empiricism
My dull prosaic take on all these questions
is fundamentally to try it out
so here for what it’s worth is my suggestion:
that we explore the boundaries of doubt
to see just where your feelings of attraction
revert to seething masses of confusion
where love becomes a far away distraction
where peace of mind is just a fond illusion.
Then we will know if there’s an open chance
to bring our errant hearts so close together
as through night’s forests dark we two will dance
until we find the upland fields of heather.
Let’s try our luck and see where the pieces fall
Let’s dare to follow after love’s sweet call!
